New Management and Ownership in Place at Folio Exhibits

April 6, 1998, Worcester, MA — Folio Exhibits, Inc. of Worcester, Massachusetts has recently announced a management buyout of the 11-year-old custom exhibit company. Members of the management team participating in the buyout are industry veterans Mike Hally, Executive Vice President of Design, and Jack Hally, Executive Vice President of Sales. The management buyout also results in the appointment of two new Folio officers—Sean Mahoney to the position of President and Craig Stevens to the position of Chief Financial Officer.

Folio describes itself as "a dimensional marketing firm that strives to enhance its clients’ brands through the tradeshow and event channels." The new ownership structure, which provides significant additional capital resources, is being promoted by the company as the first step in a new strategy to aggressively expand nationwide through internal development and acquisitions.

Folio Exhibits, one of the largest exhibit design and construction companies on the East Coast, has experienced significant growth each year since its founding in 1987. Folio and its 80+ employees are headquartered in a 120,000 square-foot facility near the Worcester Airport. Folio plans to maintain its New England and corporate operations in this location as the company expands nationally.

Folio’s management team intends to expand the company’s capabilities through the acquisition of exhibit companies around the country that mirror Folio’s philosophy in design and construction. "There is really only one other custom exhibit builder with a significant national presence today," explains new CFO Craig Stevens. "We believe we can offer our clients the advantage of a national company without becoming so large and centralized that we become bureaucratic and unresponsive."

New Folio President Sean Mahoney attributes Folio’s prior success to its people. "These employees are artisans and service personnel that sincerely care about Folio’s success," explains Mahoney. "They are led by a professional, entrepreneurial management team that is a refreshing change from the smaller operations we often see in this industry. The pride of these employees shows in every exhibit that goes out the door."

Folio Exhibits offers comprehensive exhibit and event services to clients across a wide range of industries such as high-tech, healthcare, finance, sports and leisure, and real estate development. Folio’s client list includes such major corporations as Bay Networks, The Bostonian Company, New England Development, Titleist/Footjoy, CMG, Genrad, and PictureTel.
